Description

Helianthus annuus - sunflower 'Sun King'

DESCRIPTION: Grand flowering Sun King is striking when in full flower. The large flowers attract wildlife and make a great treat for birds once the flowering season has finished.
PLANTING: Spring to early Summer or in warmer climates, year round. Plant in a sunny location protected from strong wind. Sow two seeds together directly into garden beds, apply a layer of soil, gently pat down and keep moist.
CARE: Water seedlings regularly until established and during dry periods. Add a slow release fertiliser on planting and follow up with liquid fertiliser applied weekly for best results. Plants may become top heavy when in full flower, use a stake to support the stem.
