Coreopsis - seed
Glowing yellow daisy flowers, frilly and double flowered, will bring sunshine to hot dry areas of your garden (and areas that are a little more welcoming to plants!). This award-winning variety is easy to grow in the garden and in pots; and makes a great cut flower too.
Coreopsis grandiflora 'Early Sunrise'
DESCRIPTION: Bushy perennial with golden yellow double daisy flowers from the first year of sowing. Flowers loved by beneficial pollinators, seedheads loved by birds. RHS Award of Garden Merit.
PLANTING: Sow seeds in Spring and Autumn in seed trays/pots, and keep moist. Barely cover the seeds with soil. Thin plants once they develop 2-4 leaves and are easily handled. Plant in free draining soil in a sunny location for best flowering.
CARE: Water seedlings regularly until established and continue to provide water especially during dry spells. Mulch plants to keep the shallow roots cool in summer. For an extra long flowering season, remove spent blooms and feed with liquid fertiliser.
