Very elegant camellia with a classic look ideal for formal gardens , and relaxed enough for more natural style plantings. Japonica camellias are good varieties for southern states as they are slightly more resilient to cold than the sasanqua kinds.

Camellia japonica 'Elegans Champagne'
DESCRIPTION: Low growing shrub with dense, deep green leaves and gently ruffled double white flowers with cream centres. Japonica varieties flower late season, are slightly more cold-hardy than sasanqua camellias, and are generally a larger plant with large blooms.
USES: Hedging, topiary, feature planting, and container planting.
PLANTING: Sunny or partly shaded position with morning or afternoon sun. Shelter from strong winds and exposed sites. Plant in well drained soil prepared with mulch. Water regularly during the first 12 weeks or until the plant is established. Tolerates frost once established.
CARE: Mulch and water well, prune after flowering and fertilise using camellia specific feed.
