Magnolia grandiflora 'Little Gem'
APPEARANCE : Little Gem is a dwarf bull magnolia variety, sought after for their shape, leaf colour, and flowers and not too big for your garden. Deep glossy large leaves with a rich tan underside; very large white bowl-shaped flowers intermittently throughout the year in mild climates.More shade tolerant, faster-growing, and more free-flowering than Teddy Bear.
USE FOR: Feature tree, hedging and privacy screens, also suited to large containers. Very happy to be pruned to create hedging.
PLANTING : Sunny or partly shaded position with morning or afternoon sun. Shelter from strong winds and exposed sites, and protect from frost and snow.
CARE : Plant in well drained soil in a full sun to partly shaded position in the garden. Provide plenty of water during dry periods. Remove seed heads after flowering, this encourages dense new growth and more prolific flowering. Feed with a slow release fertiliser for acid-loving plants like Osmocote Roses, Gardenias, Azaleas & Camellias
HEIGHT & WIDTH : 4-5m H x 2-3m W.
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants with healthy roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 50mm across. You can see an example in the image gallery
