Agapanthus africanus 'Big Blue'
DESCRIPTION: Seed-grown variety which will give a subtle variation in height and colour. Broad strappy clumping foliage, long straight smooth stems topped with globes of pale blue florets.
PLANTING: Plant in a full sun to partly shaded position in the garden for maximum flowering period.
CARE: Mulch and water well until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Protect from frost while small. Prune spent flowers to remove seedheads or leave to dry in situ. Reapply mulch and apply a slow release fertiliser during spring. Hardy and low maintenance.  Lift and divide when clumps get too large.
