Description

Bauhinia variegata Alba - white orchid tree

APPEARANCE : Leaves are large, heart-shaped and soft grey-green; flowers are large, white, shaped like a moth orchid. The tree has a short trunk and a broad spreading crown. CLIMATE : Marginally frost hardy, in tropical climates it is semi-evergreen, in cooler climates it is deciduous, flowering on leafless branches.
USE FOR : Ideal used as a shade tree in medium to large gardens.
PLANTING : Plant in a full sun/part shade position in the garden in well drained soil. Protect from strong wind, not suited to coastal planting
CARE: Easily maintained with average water needs. .
HEIGHT AND WIDTH: 8m H x 6m W.
