Looking for a standout feature plant for summer gardens? Natchez flowers heavily through summer and early autumn, followed by seedpods and deep autumn-winter leaf colour.

Its gentle weeping habit - which can be transformed into strong upright growth with hard pruning - makes it perfect for almost any garden, cottage and formal.

Usually available from November until we sell out.

Lagerstroemia 'Natchez' - crepe myrtle

APPEARANCE : Summer-flowering large shrub or small tree with paper-like white blooms and small oval shaped leaves. Deciduous through winter, with autumn leaf colour before leaf-fall. Vigorous growing variety with smooth grey bark and a gently weeping habit.
USES: Ideal for light screening, topiary, hedge planting and large containers. Coppice (hard prune) for larger leaves and upright growth.
PLANTING: Plant in free draining soil in a full sun location. Mulch after planting to retain moisture and regulate soil temperatures as the young plant establishes.
CARE: Water regularly during the first 8-12 weeks until the plant is established, then during dry periods until the plant develops a trunk. Drought tolerant. Prune in autumn following leaf drop for prolific summer flowering and a dense growth habit; or deadhead after first flowers to keep an elegant shape and encourage a second flower flush. Fertilise using a slow release fertiliser twice yearly, thrive in clay soils.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: Up to 8m H x 6m W.
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
You can see an example in the image gallery.
