Vibrant purple-pink long honey-scented flowers will have all the butterflies calling at your garden. This variety has been one of the most loved and most grown since it was released in 1942.

Big, bold, totally cold hardy - just give it somewhere sunny and free-draining. You can see the colour variation in sunlight and shade, and in newly opened flowers and mature flowerspike in the image gallery.

Buddlejia davidii 'Royal Red'

APPEARANCE: Fast establishing shrub flowering from summer through to autumn with spear shaped clusters of deep vibrant pink-purple scented flowers up to 30cm long. Attracts bird life, butterflies and bees to your garden.
USE FOR : Striking colour contrast with other flowering plants in mixed beds and borders. Wildlife gardens, kitchen gardens and orchards
CLIMATE : Frost hardy, drought tolerant
PLANTING: Plant in full sun snd free draining soil, mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Cold hardy to -20C
CARE: Hard prune after flowering to maintain compact growth and heavier flowering. Fertilise in spring using a slow release fertiliser, give an extra boost during the summer heat using eco-seaweed.
