Silverbeet 'Fordhook Giant' - Beta vulgaris
DESCRIPTION: Nutritious leafy veg with large dark leaves and long white stalks, for salads and cooking.
PLANTING: Sow direct. Lightly cover seed to 10mm.
CARE: Plant in full sun or semi-shade with morning sun. Prefers neutral or alkaline soils; in acid-soil gardens use as much compost as you can. Keep moist through germination and while growing. Water the soil and feed regularly through the growing period to keep those big leaves lush. Harvest in just 8-10 weeks from sowing.
