DESCRIPTION: Fast growing chinese green which may be eaten fresh in salads or gently steamed/stir-fried for a nutritious side dish. PLANTING: Sow year-round in most parts of Australia avoiding frost in southern states. Sow seeds into seed raising mix or direct & thin to 2-3 plants at approx 5cm in height. Plant in full sun for early harvest and strong growth. Likes an alkaline or neutral soil. USE IN: Use young leaves and stems in salads and gently steam or add mature leaves to stir-fries. CARE: Mulch plants to retain moisture in the soil. Provide plenty of water regularly to avoid the leaves becoming bitter. For a bumber crop of fresh leafy greens apply liquid fertiliser every two weeks.
