This petite evergreen shrub performs an annual magic trick - every spring it completely hides its leaves with an invisibility cloak of raspberry pink flowers. Then in autumn those green leaves turn into shades of deep bronze-brown.

Low maintenance, will flower in deep shade, and reputedly rabbit-resistant. So much to enjoy, no wonder it's been grown by gardeners around the world for over a century.
