Chamelaucium Dee's Delight - waxflower
Dee is right to be delighted with her lovely waxflower; it's a great versatile height for hedging and feature planting, it blooms from late winter to early spring when you need colour in the garden, and the bigger-than-usual flowers give you a range of shades from pure white to deep mauve-pink.
Most of our waxflowers are usually available for sale late January-early February onwards until they sell out.
Chamelaucium uncinatum 'Dee's Delight' PBR - Geraldton Wax, waxflower
DESCRIPTION: Large flowering native shrub with fine evergreen foliage and a rounded growth habit. White buds in late winter open into masses of large single flowers which mature to shades of purple lilac and mauve pink.USE IN: Suited to native and cottage style gardens and large containers. Makes a beautiful cut flower.
LOCATION: Plant in free draining soil in a sunny to partly shaded position in the garden, best flowering is achieved in full sun. Suitable to exposed areas in most parts of Australia. Tolerates light frost and is drought resistant once established. Prefers low humidity climates.
CARE: Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Prune lightly after flowering to encourage new growth and dense flowering next season, avoid cutting into old wood. Fertilise yearly using a slow release native fertiliser.
