APPEARANCE: Broadleaf tropical cordyline with dark burgundy-green leaves boldly splashed with hot pink
USES: For the tropical garden. As a contrasting plant for a colourful garden and massed together for a splash of colour.
PLANTING: Plant in a full-part shade position in the garden in free draining soil. Mulch when planting and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Water regularly during dry periods. Cordylines are hardy and will tolerate periods of sun although they prefer filtered light. Protect from frost.
CARE: Remove dead foliage and cut back in spring if plants become leggy. Apply liquid fertiliser following extended dry periods and every 3 months for loads of lush foliage Cutting all foliage off is fine as the plant will regrow from the stem. Plant the removed stems elsewhere in the garden or into pots and watch them come to life! Just be sure to give them plenty of water in the first 8-12 weeks and avoid exposing them to full sunlight.
