Petite, pink, and perky, this lovely little native shrub packs a lot of cold-season colour into a small space. Brighten up your winter garden, rockery, or a patio pot with its larger-than-usual bright blooms.

Croweas like light sandy free-draining soils; if you have heavy soils or a lot of rain, plant it at the top of a slope to help with drainage.

Crowea exalata hybrid 'Poorinda Ecstasy' - waxflower
APPEARANCE : Native flowering shrub with small slender evergreen leaves and pink star-shaped flowers from late summer to early winter, and intermittently the rest of the year outside very hot or cold periods. Croweas have five petals and boronias have four petals.
USE FOR :  Native and cottage gardens, winter colour. Can be grown in pots and containers, and the stems cut to enjoy indoors in a vase.
PLANTING:  Plant in dappled shade and free-draining light sandy acid soil for best results. Tolerates a light frost.
CARE:  Mulch plants generously to regulate soil temperatures and keep roots cool and moist as the young plant establishes. Water regularly - don't let plants dry out or become waterlogged. A prune once flowering has finished, or at the end of winter, will help give the plant shape and encourage new growth. Follow with an application of a slow release fertiliser for natives, and fresh mulch.
HEIGHT & WIDTH:  1m H x 1m W.
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
You can see an example in the image gallery.
