Philotheca Ruby Cascade waxflower
This little native shrub will bring you Christmas in July, flowering through the winter months. Buds red as Rudolph's nose open into snowy-white starry flowers, clothing the deep pine-green stems top to bottom. Crush the leaves and you'll get a whiff of minty-apple freshness.
Happy in exposed coastal sites, which is good news for sea change gardeners; and tolerant of pollution, good news for urban gardeners.
