Gaillardia Arizona Sun - blanket flower
Blanket flowers love it hot and sunny, and will bloom from spring right through summer and autumn, especially if you clip over to deadhead once in a while. Arizona Sun has classic blanket flower good looks - big orange-red daisy flowers with a bright fringe of golden yellow.
You'll get colourful pots and borders quick smart, especially with some TLC with regular water and feeding.
They originate in the North American prairies so they don't mind poor soils and they're cold hardy too. Butterflies love them, and you will too for their fast growth and generous flowers.

APPEARANCE : Herbaceous perennial with slender green leaves and large orange-red daisy-like flowers, with a raised central yellow eye and yellow tips to the petals, through the warmer months. CLIMATE : Frost hardy, drought tolerant once established
PLANTING : Full sun, free-draining soil. They are shorter-lived in heavy clay; they do not mind poor dry soils
CARE: Mulch with organic matter and water until the plants are established, and in dry spells; feed during flowering. They flower better with regular watering. Regular removal of dead flowers will prolong flowering. May slow growth in hot midsummer.
