Gaura Baby Butterflies Rose
Our tall pink gaura are SO popular they fly out of the nursery gate as soon as they are back in stock, so we have high hopes for this new shorter variety!
All the beauty and easy care, in a compact size - perfect for pots, front of the border, and planting alongside the taller kinds for two layers of effortless flowering.
Petite Rose has vibrant magenta-pink flowers that open from red buds, which gives a pretty two-tone effect over the long flowering season. The new leaves also emerge in rich red for extra colour. She looks dainty, but once established, she's tough and resilient.
Gaura lindheimeri , Oenothera lindheimeri 'Baby Butterflies Rose'
APPEARANCE : Herbaceous bushy perennial of Texas and Louisiana. Long slender stems with magenta-pink butterfly-like flowers all along from spring until first frost. Note : In the winter the leaves sometimes show coloured spots. This is an environmental reaction to temperature and nothing to worry about.USE FOR : Mixed beds and borders, cottage gardens, meadow-style planting, waterwise gardens.
CLIMATE : Drought tolerant once mature; frost tolerant but may need mulching in snow zones in winter.
PLANTING: Plant in full sun with well draining soil. Mulch and water on a regular basis, until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks.
CARE: For an extra long flowering season, remove spent blooms and feed with liquid fertiliser. Plants flower better when they have been in place a year or two. Cutting plants hard back after flowering will prevent them self seeding.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 60 cm H x 60 cm W.
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
You can see an example in the image gallery.
