Evergreen hebes are valuable additions to the garden, as they shine through sea breezes, love free-draining soil, and attract bees and butterflies to feed. Compact Marie Antoinette is as beautiful as her namesake, with rich purple new leaf colour and two-tone flowers that change along their length from white through magenta to warm purple.

Hebe "Marie Antoinette'
APPEARANCE : (Say it hee-bee). Dwarf evergreen shrub, neat and rounded in outline, with small slender dark green leaves, deep purple when new; and abundant long flower clusters that open purple-pink and mature to white, which appear at the end of the stems from late winter to early summer. Sometimes listed as Veronica Marie Antoinette.
USE FOR : Feature shrub, potted colour, low hedge, wildlife garden.
CLIMATE : Tolerates light overnight frost, salt spray, sea breezes, some humidity. Doesn't tolerate hot tropical climates.
PLANTING: Moist, free-draining soil in sun or shade. Hates drying out, or cold wet heavy soil.
CARE :  Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Prune tips while young to encourage dense growth and fertilise in early spring and every other month through summer. Lightly prune all over each year after flowering to maintain shape and encourage new growth - hebes don't like hard pruning.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 0.5m H x 0.5m W.
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
