This awesome fearsome looking grevillea has the most amazing leaves, like a ninja throwing star; and sausage-like flowers that emerge creamy white and gradually toast through shades of lemon to a deep gold. They're honey-scented too! I

t's a rambly-scrambly arching tangle of a shrub, so give it plenty of room to do its thing; and prune it back if it gets too much.

Note : Our flexuosas are grafted grevilleas, unlike most of our other varieties. Grafting joins the main plant to another, more robust or adaptable, rootstock. This means it will grow in a wider range of soil types. Read more here

Grevillea flexuosa - zigzag grevillea

APPEARANCE : Sprawling rambly arching grevillea, with distinctive pointed leaves, and sausage-shaped cream-yellow fragrant flowers from early spring. It uses the stiff leaves like climbing hooks to clamber up other larger plants. Slow-growing to start until it finds its feet.
ORIGIN :Native to south west WA
USE FOR :  Sensory gardens, wildlife gardens, native gardens. Try the foliage in floral arrangements too.
CLIMATE: Tolerates dry periods and light overnight once established.
PLANTING: Plant in full sun for maximum flowering. Prefers free-draining soil - plant on slopes and banks where rainfall can drain away. Note : this is a grafted grevillea, unlike our other varieties. This means it will grow in a wider range of soil types. The tape securing the graft point is biodegradable and should dissolve by the time the graft is complete.
CARE: Water regularly during the first 8-12 weeks until the plant is established. Prune after flowering to promote flowering, dense habit and control growth. A hard prune each 3-4 years will result in a fresh flush of flowers and foliage.  Feed with a slow release native fertiliser when buds form - grevilleas can be phosphorus-sensitive so the P ratio of the fertiliser needs to be under 3%.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 1-2m H x 2-4m W.
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
You can see an example in the image gallery.
