Hebe Annie's Winter Wonder
Hebes are valuable additions to the coastal garden, as they shine through sea breezes, love free-draining soil, and attract bees and butterflies to feed.
Evergreen variegated hebes give you heaps of year-round colour - like this beauty, with cream edged leaves to show off those purple-pink flowers. New leaves are purple, and the whole plant takes on a purple hue in cold weather.

APPEARANCE : (Say it hee-bee). Dwarf evergreen shrub from New Zealand, neat and rounded in outline, with small slender green mature leaves, striped cream on the outer edges; and purple new leaves. The whole plant turns wine purple in the colder months. Abundant flower clusters in pink-purple, which appear at the end of the stems from late winter to early summer.
USE FOR : >Feature shrub, potted colour, low hedge, wildlife garden.
CLIMATE : Tolerates light overnight frost, salt spray, sea breezes, some humidity. Doesn't tolerate hot tropical climates.
PLANTING: Moist, free-draining soil in sun or shade. Hates drying out, or cold wet heavy soil.
CARE : Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Prune tips while young to encourage dense growth and fertilise in early spring and every other month through summer. Lightly prune all over each year after flowering to maintain shape and encourage new growth - hebes don't like hard pruning. This variety is very disease resistant.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 75m H x 75m W.
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
