Celebrate Christmas in July with your own homegrown holly. This extremely popular Christmas decoration is a slow-growing shrub to large tree that produces the iconic red berries on pollinated female plants. Note : it's almost impossible to tell holly gender so we can't 100% promise berries but we'll do our best. A plant for cooler, non-humid areas of Australia.

Ilex aquifolium - American holly, common holly, English holly
APPEARANCE : Evergreen ornamental shrub to tall tree; distinctive scalloped dark green glossy leaves with pointed tips. Insignificant white flowers in spring and summer are followed by red berries in late autumn to winter on female plants.
USE FOR : Screening, feature shrub-tree. Excellent security hedging. Cut the stems and berries for home decoration.
PLANTING : Plant in filtered sunlight, tolerates full sun if watered regularly. Mulch and water on a regular basis, until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks.
CARE : Gentle pruning to shape the plant if necessary. Supplementary water in drought periods. Berries are toxic to cats, dogs and horses.
HEIGHT & WIDTH :  4 - 15 m H x 4 - 8 m W.
YOUR PLANTS : These plants are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
