Stenocarpus sinuatus - firewheel tree
DESCRIPTION: Australian native tree with glossy ornate wavy lobed leaves and showy wheel-shaped flowers. Perfect for feature planting and streetscapes.USES: Excellent for screening or as a specimen tree. Create a shady spot in the garden and enjoy watching the wildlife visit.
PLANTING: Plant in well drained soil in full sun. Plant in a sheltered location out o strong wind. Apply mulch and continue to water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Tolerates a light overnight frost once mature.
CARE: Tip prune while young to encourage a smaller dense rounded shape, or leave to grow tall and open. Fertilise using native fertiliser yearly.
HEIGHT: Usually 10 metres in full sun: up to 30 m in a warm shaded spot.
