Poncirus trifoliata 'Flying Dragon'

APPEARANCE : Thorny citrus tree with small green glossy leaves, small lightly-scented white blossoms, small velvet-skinned fruits, large thorns. Flying Dragon is a dwarf form with contorted curved stems. Leaves turn orange in autumn; deciduous so you can really appreciate those branches in winter.
CLIMATE : Cold tolerant, will survive extended periods of snow. Heat tolerant.
USE FOR : Feature planting, security barriers, boundary hedging, privacy hedging dense enough to walk on. The fruit is bitter but makes good marmalade and jellies.
PLANTING : Plant in full sun and well drained soil. Alkaline water may cause yellowing of the leaves; treat with citrus-specific plant food if this occurs.
CARE : Prune hard to desired height for hedging, or prune out branches to accentuate the stems.
MATURE HEIGHT & WIDTH :  4 m x 3 m.
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
You can see an example in the image gallery.
