Description

Punica granatum Double Orange - ornamental pomegranate

APPEARANCE : Ornamental, deciduous pomegranate with vibrant double orange blooms in late summer, glossy leaves larger than the dwarf form. New foliage is coloured orange.
USE FOR : Hedging, feature planting, large container planting.
LOCATION: Prefers full sun for maximum flowering though will grow in dappled or part shade. Plant in free draining soil rich in organic matter. Drought tolerant once established and tolerant of coastal conditions.
CARE : Mulch and water well until established and during dry spells. Prune late winter or early spring to encourage flowering the following season.
HEIGHT & WIDTH : 6 m H x 5 m W.
