$8.95

Lots of flower in a little package! The Poco™ series of red hot pokers are pocket sized, petite enough for pots and packed with flowers. Poco Citron starts off lime green, opens into zesty lemon yellow, and ages to gentle butter-cream.

You'll get heaps of nectar-rich flowers through summer and autumn, after which the grassy leaves die back to let winter plants have their time in the spotlight. Drought tolerant and frost hardy, ideal for outback gardens.

Kniphofia Poco™ 'Citron'

APPEARANCE : Clumping grassy-leaved South African perennial with smooth stems of tubular flowers which hang down around the stem, opening from bottom to top. The Poco series are dwarf hybrids much smaller than the species forms; Poco Citron is a bright cream-yellow.
USE FOR : Ornamental feature plant, in mixed flower beds, rockeries, pots. Unusual cut flowers.
CLIMATE : Frost hardy and drought tolerant once mature and established. Plants will flower less in prolonged dry conditions.
PLANTING: Plant in light free-draining soil in pots or out in the garden. Likes plenty of sun. Does not like soggy roots.
CARE: Deadhead old flowers to encourage new ones to form; water weekly during flowering period. In spring, cut the foliage back to about a hand's length from the soil to encourage new growth, and feed with controlled release fertiliser. In areas with very wet winters, scoop the leaves up into a ponytail and tie together to provide an 'umbrella' for the centre of the plant. Every 4-5 years divide the plants after they finish flowering by splitting the root clump vertically and replanting half elsewhere. This keeps the plant healthy and growing.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 30-40cm H x 30cm W.
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
