Ocimum basilicum - lemon basil

DESCRIPTION: Compact growing basil with small leaves and a fresh lemon twist. Plant in containers handy to the kitchen and use the leaves to add zest to salads and fruit drinks.
PLANTING: Spring-Summer and Autumn-Winter in warmer locations or for container planting. Sow seeds directly into their final position & thin at approx 5cm in height. A full sun location is ideal.
USE IN: Add to noodle salads, chicken and fish dishes, and stir-fries or try in fruit punch for an extra kick. Leaves may be frozen for later use.
CARE: Water seedlings regularly until established and continue to provide water especially during dry spells. Mulch plants to retain moisture in the soil. Tip prune new shoots and remove flower heads for a bushy plant and bumper harvest. Boost new growth by applying liquid fertiliser monthly. Protect from frost.
