A great starter pitcher, Miranda has large creamy pouches splashed with blood red, complete with vampiric lip and lid, to keep those bugs shut tight inside. She grows fast, she's heat tolerant, and she can trap quite large insects when full-grown.

Nepenthes 'Miranda' - pitcher plant
DESCRIPTION: Carnivorous epiphytic plant from Malaysia, growing in an arching rosette of apple-green glossy leaves, which develop into codpiece-like tubes at the end filled with bug-dissolving enzymes. Miranda has very large, creamy, red-spotted pitchers with deep red lips, and is a good variety for beginner carnivorous plant growers.
USES: Interesting and unusual indoor plant, or outdoors in tropical zones.
PLANTING:  An orchid mix is ideal, with chunks of bark, sphagnum moss or coir to let air to the roots and drain away water fast.
CARE: Loves it humid and warm, definitely above 10C at night. Mist them regularly to keep them happy, water often but don't let them get soggy. Once a year a mature plant might need a pick-me-up, feed with diluted orchid feed.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 60 cm + H
PLEASE NOTE: These are tubestock plants with a healthy young root system and will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80 mm x 42 mm wide. Your plants may be supplied as 'plugs', slightly smaller than our usual tubestock but with a healthy root system ready for planting or potting on. Nepenthes (like many tree-dwelling plants) have very small shallow root systems even when mature; we ship them on pots of soil for your convenience but the roots will not fill the pot.
