Olea europaea 'Piccolo' - dwarf olive
DESCRIPTION: Slow-growing long-lived Mediterranean tree with silvery leaves. This dwarf variety is non-flowering or fruiting and has a multi-branching habit.USE IN: Suitable for pots and container planting, topiary, hedging and screening, feature planting. Cut the foliage for flower arranging.
LOCATION: A full sun to partly shaded position in the garden. Hardy shrub suited to most conditions nationwide especially frost-free locations, and coastal plantings. Perfect for sandy areas and poor soil. . Will tolerate light frost and drought when mature.
CARE: Easy if the climate is right for it. Mulch and water well during the first 12 weeks until the plant is established, prune after flowering to promote new growth and encourage bushiness not spindliness. For container-grown olives, repot if necessary during the growing season.
