Philotheca myoporoides ‘Winter Rouge’ – wax flower, eriostemon
APPEARANCE : Compact native flowering shrub with aromatic deep green foliage. Pink-red buds open to starry white-pink flowers in winter-spring.
USE FOR : Winter colour shrub for cottage gardens, native gardens, wildlife gardens, coastal gardens, urban gardens, waterwise gardens. Can also be grown in large pots and containers.
PLANTING : Plant in free draining soil in a sunny or partly shaded location, dappled sunlight is perfect. Mulch after planting to retain moisture and regulate soil temperatures as the young plant establishes. Tolerates light overnight frost and dry spells once established.
CARE : A prune once flowering has finished will help give the plant shape. Follow with an application of a native slow release fertiliser.
