This tough pretty little shrub is worth a try in dry unpromising spots and brand new gardens, as it's a good coloniser of poor soils. If you get frost, grow it as a houseplant to enjoy the trumpet-shaped flowers in gentle violet-mauve.

APPEARANCE: Tough attractive shrub or herbaceous perennial, with small violet-purple trumpet-shaped flowers and upright branching stems of soft green leaves. Flowers during spring/summer.ORIGIN : From the Indian sub-continent, Burma, and Nepal
USE FOR : Cottage gardens, fast flowers, mixed borders, potted colour
CLIMATE : Frost free locations.
PLANTING: Full sun/part shade. It is a coloniser plant, growing readily on dry disturbed soils and roadsides
CARE: Responds well to light pruning which shapes it and improves bushiness. Water regularly during the first 8-12 weeks until the plant is established.
