Kaleidoscope of pretty purple mauve and white shades through spring, as honey-scented flowers mature. Compact dwarf form, ideal in containers and cottage gardens. There's also a variegated form of this shrub with cream leaf colour.
Brunfelsia latifolia Compacta - yesterday today tomorrowDESCRIPTION: This evergreen shrub is slow growing to an average height of 1m around. Dense green oval-shaped leaves with perfumed lavender and white shades of flowers that bloom between September & November and intermittently through the year.
USES: Great for specimen planting in small gardens; and in large pots. Screening and hedging plant.
PLANTING: Subtropical climates are preferred by this plant but worth a go in sheltered sites if frost-free. Suited to a full sun position in the garden. Mulch and water well after planting.
CARE: Prune after flowering to maintain form and encourage a full flush of flowers next season. Fertilise during spring with a slow release fertiliser.
