Neat lowgrowing bottlebrush with slender foliage. Masses of vermilion-scarlet flowers that seem to sparkle in the sunlight; and helpfully drop to the ground when finished, to allow the rust-red new leaves to shine in autumn and spring. Hugely prolific bloomer even from a young age.

Callistemon viminalis Scarlet Flame™ CC19' PBR

APPEARANCE : Very compact fine-leaf native Callistemon, bred from Captain Cook. New growth in autumn and spring is coppery rust-red; bright vermilion-red flowers are self-cleaning and abundant. Ozbreed variety.
USE FOR : Screen, hedge or feature for smaller gardens and compact planting areas.
PLANTING : Full sun to part shade. Suits a wide variety of soils and tolerates drought and cold.
CAREv:  Mulch with chunky mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Use slow release fertiliser in spring. Responds well to yearly clipping if required. Prune to shape 1 - 2 times a year after flowering for a tidy hedge or every 2 - 3 years for a natural shape.
