Salvia microphylla 'Hot Lips'

APPEARANCE: Small leaved shrubby perennial with bicolour blooms of white and red over a long flowering season. Evergreen in frostfree climates, otherwise deciduous.
USE IN: Cottage style gardens, mixed beds and borders, wildlife gardens, pots and tubs.
PLANTING: Plant in a full sun to partly shaded position in the garden, in rich soil. Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Water regularly in dry periods.
CARE: Clip over after flowering, to encourage fresh growth and repeat flowering. Cut it hard back in midsummer when it has a little rest from blooming. Fertilise in spring using a slow release fertiliser, give an extra boost during the summer heat using eco-seaweed. Mulch well to protect the rootball over winter.
