Gorgeous sun-loving drought-tolerant frost-tolerant easy-going shrub covered in masses of papery flowers that open a soft blush pink and gently fade to white as they mature. This variety is over a century old, tried and tested in gardens worldwide.

Cistus × argenteus Silver Pink - rock rose
DESCRIPTION: Medium-sized shrub with soft pale sage green foliage, open pale pink crepe-paper summer blooms, that fade to white. Good pest and disease resistance. Very free-flowering.
USE IN:Garden borders, informal hedging, feature plant.
PLANTING: Plant in a sunny sheltered spot in free draining soil. Will flower in part shade but bloom numbers may be less. Water regularly during the first 12 months to help establish a good root system. Frost tolerant. Reportedly puts up with clay and moister soils than other cistus so try that out.
CARE: Mulch and water well, lightly clip over after flowering, and apply a slow release fertiliser.
