Pretty palest pink flowers flushed and freckled with darker pink centres. Masses of flowers in spring. Needs a lime-free soil with plenty of organic matter.

Happy in pots and containers, especially somewhere slightly shaded or with dappled light. One of our most popular azaleas.

Rhododendron x hybrid Azalea 'Alphonse Anderson'

APPEARANCE : Masses of pale pinkish white flowers, flushed with a dark pink throat and freckles.  Medium sized in habit and flowering in spring.
USE FOR : In groups as a mass display of flowering colour; informal hedging, feature plant. Suitable for pots.
CLIMATE : Will come through a light frost once established. Alphonse Anderson is a "Sun Azalea" with high heat tolerance.
PLANTING : Azaleas love dappled shade, morning and/or afternoon sun. Plant in a free draining soil rich in organic matter.  A potting mix rich with humus is ideal.
HEIGHT & WIDTH : 1.4m H x 1m W.
CARE : Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Continue to water on a regular basis for the first twelve months to ensure the plant becomes fully established. Prune after spring flowering to promote dense growth habit and flowering next season, fertilise using a slow release fertiliser such as Osmocote which is specially formulated for azaleas
