It's a native, it's a groundcover, it flowers in winter, it's drought tolerant, it's bred for landscaping tricky sites, and it's happy in the outback or at the coast. If this plant worked in middle management it would be ticking all the boxes with its ducks in a row.

Eremophila glabra 'prostrate Burgundy' - emu bush

DESCRIPTION:Native shrubby wide-spreading groundcover with small grey-green leaves and small warm red-brown flowers in winter.
USES:  Native gardens, wildlife gardens, coastal gardens, erosion control, living mulch.
PLANTING:Grows in any well-drained soil. Prefers sun and low humidity. Mulch after planting to retain moisture and regulate soil temperatures as the young plant establishes. Tolerates frost and drought once established.
CARE: A light prune once flowering has finished will help give the plant shape. Follow with an application of a native slow release fertiliser.
