Impressive fast-growing feature tree for large gardens and acreage planting. Gorgeous dappled bark, acacia-like ferny leaves, yellow flowers in summer.  Drought tolerant, and pest and disease free. Create a shady paradise by under-planting with foliage plants for colour.

Caesalpinia ferrea syn Libidibia - leopard tree

APPEARANCE : Large, fast growing feature tree from Brazil and Bolivia, with dappled, cream coloured smooth bark and fern like foliage. Features yellow flowers during spring.
USE FOR : Acreage planting and large gardens to create shade and as a specimen tree.
PLANTING : Plant in a full sun to partly shaded position in the garden away from underground pipes, foundations, and driveways. Prefers well drained soil and warm climates; will come through a light overnight frost once mature
CARE : Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Prune while young to encourage a tidy growth habit.
HEIGHT :  Up to 20M.
