This is THE leucadendron for many people, famous in floristry across the world for its rich, maroon flowers (well, leaves, but who's quibbling?) and a gorgeous garden shrub with strong presence.

It's easy to grow in sunny spots, drought tolerant, and copes with frost to -5C.

Leucadendron laureolum 'Safari Sunset'

APPEARANCE : Bold evergreen (ever-red) open branching shrub from South Africa, long stems of "flowers" in maroon-burgundy with the true flower cones in the centre of the leaves.
USE FOR:  Suitable for garden beds, hedges, borders, cut flower garden.
CLIMATE : Frost tolerant to -5C
PLANTING :  Prefers full sun to part shade. Suitable for a variety of soil types but must be well drained.
CARE: Mulch and water regularly during the first 4-6 weeks or until the plant is established. A very hardy, low maintenance plant being frost and drought tolerant once established.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 2.5 m H x 1.5 m W.
