Super-pretty camellia, completely covered in vibrant blue-pink frilly rounded flowers in full bloom. Fallen blooms create a pink carpet under every bush. It can grow into a tall upright bush, with dense foliage ideal for hedging, and the flowers come early in the season.

Camellia sasanqua x hiemalis 'Sparkling Burgundy'

DESCRIPTION: Tall, upright bush with small dark leaves and abundant egg-sized blooms. Flowers are a loose double with ruffled petals, a bright bluish-pink. Sasanqua Camellias have smaller leaves and denser foliage than their cousins the “Japonicas”.  They are easier to grow, more sun tolerant, and better in warmer climates. Evergreen shrubs to 3m with beautiful displays of flowers in autumn and early winter.
USES: Ideal for screens, hedges, espaliers and large pots.
PLANTING: Sunny or partly shaded position with morning or afternoon sun. Shelter from strong winds and exposed sites. Plant in a free draining soil rich in organic matter. A potting mix rich with peat moss or humus is ideal added at the time of planting.
CARE: Mulch and water well, prune after flowering and fertilise in Spring.  Plant in a soil which is medium to acidic. Avoid lime.
