Looking like a snack, this crinkly little peperomia is the perfect plant if you forget to water. It will cope with drying out between watering, but one thing it doesn't like is soggy feet. So give it some benign neglect, and enjoy those deep dark leaves.

Peperomia caperata 'Black Leaf Ripple'

DESCRIPTION: Tropical foliage plant with tiny heart-shaped leaves, intricately crinkled and darkly coloured. (Note: tubestock may be green when delivered but will darken as the plant grows.) Happy plants flower with long tail-like pale green stalks which form a fan at the tip. Neat compact size.
USES: Ideal container plant for a shaded patio, accent planting in tropical gardens, or indoors. Suited to underplanting.Ideal for planting amid denser ground covers.
PLANTING: Plant in a bright spot with indirect sunlight or dappled shade. Prefers moisture-retaining soil or a good quality potting mix. Enjoys warm humid air and regular light watering with rainwater or filtered water for best results.
CARE: Water regularly during the first 12 weeks and regularly once established but with a light hand - they don't like wet soil. Mist regularly if air humidity is low. Apply a very diluted liquid feed every month in the warmer months for vibrant healthy foliage. Remove the old leaves for a quick tidy up.
