Heucheras are cracking foliage plants for all kinds of garden situations, and come in a range of leaf colour you wouldn't believe was natural (but it is!)

We know how much our gardeners love a dark leaf, so we've selected this new variety for its rich colour. It has gorgeously scallopped rippled leaves which look at their best planted en masse; and make very attractive potted colour planted singly.

Bonus pretty pale pink flowers, but if you're a foliage purist, just snip 'em off. If you love rex begonias but wish they were frost-hardy, heucheras are for you.

Heuchera 'Black Sea'® - coral bells

APPEARANCE : Mounding herbaceous perennial with dark maroon-black rounded maple-like leaves which deepens as the plant matures. Long slender stems topped with tiny bell-shaped creamy-white flowers (usually orange-pink, hence the common name) in mid-spring and summer.
USE FOR : Garden beds and borders, cottage and informal gardens, underplanting.
CLIMATE : Totally frost-hardy. More heat-tolerant than other black heucheras, humidity-tolerant once established
PLANTING : Plant in full sun to dappled or part shade in moist well-drained soil. Plant heucheras slightly proud of the soil, so the centre of the plant is raised above the soil level. Will need more watering in full sun or warmer gardens during summer to keep those leaves lush.
CARE: Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks, and again each spring. Cut back any dead or untidy foliage in spring to make room for new growth.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 60 cm H x 60 cm W.
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
You can see an example in the image gallery.
