Silver Sheen is a beautiful hedging plant for all kinds of locations, with silvery leaves on contrasting dark stems. Silver Sheen Dream takes those great looks and gives them an extra pop of colour with white variegation. It's shorter and slimmer all-around than Silver Sheen too, ideal for suburban gardens where space is tight.

Description

Pittosporum tenuifolium 'Silver Sheen Dream'

APPEARANCE : Fast-growing hedging shrub; leaves are tiny, silver-green and variegated with a wavy edge on almost-black stems.
USE IN : Hedges, privacy screens, topiary.
PLANTING : Plant in well drained soil of any kind, in full sun or part shade. Leaf and stem colour is brighter when grown in sun. Will grow better in a sheltered location protected from stiff coastal breezes and hard frost.
CARE : Fertilise with a slow release fertiliser in spring and again in autumn. Regular pruning is required to maintain shape and compact growth. Will regrow after a hard prune if necessary. Water frequently until plant is established, and during dry spells as it doesn't like drying out. Mulch well in winter in very frosty locations to keep the roots warm.
