Hydrangea maculata - variegated hydrangea

APPEARANCE: Compact flowering shrub, ideal for cottage gardens and containers. Leaves are edged with a rim of ivory white for a striking contrast with the (usually) blue lacecap flowers which arrive in late spring. Hydrangeas are hardy and the flower colour may be altered by the pH levels of the soil. As a general rule acid soil (pH 5 or below) produces blue flowers and neutral to alkaline (pH 6-7), produces mauve, pink through to red.
LOCATION: Hydrangeas prefer a partly shaded position in the garden and plenty of water during dry periods.
CARE: Water regularly during the first 8-12 weeks until the plant is established. Trim after flowering to promote the next seasons flowering and dense growth. Take care not to cut into hard wood, only pruning back the current years growth. Apply a slow release fertiliser early spring. Prefers moist well drained soil.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 0.8m H x 0.8m W.
YOUR PLANTS: These are tubestock plants with young healthy roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80 mm x 42 mm wide.
