Schefflera 'Alpine' - umbrella tree

APPEARANCE:  Easy to recognise indoor or tropical green plant, from its distinctive leaf arrangement radiating from a central stem. The glossy leaves of Alpine taper to a point unlike the usual rounded leaves of most Schefflera. Mature trees produce clusters of orange berries. Wild specimens in rainforests can reach many metres in height, developing into large trees; indoor potted plants generally stay around 2 metres tall. Alpine is a slender form bred for indoor spaces.
USE FOR :  Indoor plant, outdoor container or balcony plant in warm climates, tropical garden plant.
PLANTING : Needs a sheltered frost-free spot over 10C. Prefers bright indirect light out of hot sun, but can adapt to lower light levels indoors. Grows in almost any good soil or houseplant compost.
CARE : Water lightly and regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks; keep on the dry side in cooler weather when growth slows. Apply a slow release fertiliser twice yearly. Container plants may need extra feed and a repot into fresh soil once a year. Wipe the leaves with a damp cloth to keep them healthy and looking good. Keep away from pets that might eat the leaves, and wash your hands after handling or pruning the leaves.
HEIGHT & WIDTH :  2-3m H x 1.5m W indoors
YOUR PLANTS : These plants are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
