Xanthostemon chrysanthus 'Little Goldie'
APPEARANCE : Golden yellow fluffy flower clusters cover this little native shrub in spring-summer, and attract native birds and nectar feeding insects. Bronze coloured new leaf growth for extra seasonal interest.USE FOR: Native gardens as a feature plant; wildlife gardens; large containers on a sunny patio; informal low hedging close to the home as the roots are non invasive.
PLANTING : Plant in full sun in well drained soil for best flower display. Tolerates cooler frost-free climates and dry conditions once established, but will develop more slowly. Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks.
CARE: Prune after flowering to encourage heavier flowering and more dense growth habit. Apply a slow release native fertiliser following pruning. Protect from frost.
