Abutilon Boule de Neige - Chinese lantern
Abutilon x hybridum 'Boule de Neige' - Chinese lantern, flowering maple, Chinese bellflower
APPEARANCE : Leggy herbaceous shrub related to hollyhock and mallow. Bell-shaped hanging white flowers from winter into spring, and soft pale leaves that look like those of maple trees.
USE FOR : Indoors, pots and containers, feature shrub, informal screening.
PLANTING : Plant in full sun to maximise flowering, will tolerate shade positions but will flower less. Happy in any well-draining light soil. Mulch and water on a regular basis, until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Protect from frost with extra mulch.
CARE: Clip to shape if growing as a screen. Fertilise using a slow release fertiliser after flowering to encourage healthy growth. Prune hard in spring to promote new growth.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 2 - 4m H x 3m W.
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
