Spiraea nipponica 'Snowmound' - May bush

APPEARANCE: Medium-sized vigorous-growing deciduous shrub with arching branches. Clusters of small white single flowers appear along the top of each stem in late spring to early summer. The flowering season in its native China is late Spring - May; whereas here in the southern hemisphere that is usually September-October.
USES: Informal hedge, feature shrub, in mixed beds and borders, especially in cottage gardens.
PLANTING: Prefers a full sun to partly shaded position in the garden with well drained soil. Tolerates light frost and dry conditions once established. Prefers cooler climates and protection from the hot afternoon sun as this can cause leaf burn.
CARE: Mulch and water well, will tolerate drought and poor soils. Prune mature shrubs hard back each year after flowering, and feed with a controlled release fertiliser after flowering, to maintain a compact growth habit and promote prolific flowering next season.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 1.5 - 2.5 m H x 1.5 - 2.5 m W.
YOUR PLANTS: These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide. You can see an example in the image gallery
