Alocasia Calidora Dwarf - dwarf elephant ear
Alocasia macrorrhizos 'Calidora Dwarf' - dwarf elephant's ear
DESCRIPTION: Tropical rainforest foliage plant with very large green upright arrow-shaped leaves, with prominent veins which develop as the leaves grow, fanning out on long stems.
USES: Indoor feature plant - show it off in your best pot. Or plant into your tropical garden where it can grow to full potential.
PLANTING: Really good rich moist free-draining loam. At least half a day of good light, but not direct sun. It may occasionally drip harmless sap so place it on tile or other surface you can clean.
CARE: Ideally, recreate a tropical rainforest - steamy and hot and not too sunny. Water little and often so the compost is moist but not soggy. Mist it regularly if your climate is not naturally humid. Turn the plant every month or so if you are growing it indoors so it stays symmetrical. Keep it warm and sheltered.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 1 m H x 1 m W
YOUR PLANTS: These plants are tube-stock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The average size of your plants will be 15 -25 cm including the pot height of 80mm high and 42 mm wide. May be supplied as 'plugs', slightly smaller than our usual tubestock but with a healthy root system ready for planting or potting on.
