This daintily gorgeous little native obligingly holds its pretty pink flowers on long maroon stems, tall and clear of the foliage, so you can appreciate them all the more. Grows in the wild in exposed granite cliffs and dry sandplains, so perfect for the challenging locations in your garden.

Boronia cymosa - granite boronia
DESCRIPTION: Dainty native flowering plant from souh west WAwith a low cluster of deep green foliage, and long straight maroon stems topped with pale pink four-petalled flowers autumn to spring.USES: Native and cottage gardens, rockeries, coastal gardens, exposed sites.
PLANTING: In the wild this boronia grows on rocky granite coastal cliffs and exposed sandplains so it can tolerate a difficult site. Mulch tubestock with gravel after planting to regulate soil temperatures and keep roots cool and moist as the young plant establishes. Tolerates a light frost.
CARE: Water regularly - don't let plants dry out or become waterlogged. A prune once flowering has finished will help give the plant shape and encourage new growth - make it easier by cutting flowering stems to enjoy indoors. Follow with an application of a slow release fertiliser for natives, and fresh mulch.
