A white version of a Japanese variety, the flowers are flat, open, relaxed in form with bright yellow centres and they appear early in the season. Cleopatra is an enthusiastic grower, and tall, so would make a faster hedge than other varieties might.

Camellia sasanqua 'Cleopatra White'

DESCRIPTION: Long lasting early flowers are single or occasionally semi-double, pure white, with yellow centres, lightly scented. Sasanqua Camellias have smaller leaves and denser foliage than their cousins the “Japonicas”.  They are easier to grow, more sun tolerant, and better in warmer climates. Evergreen shrubs to 3m with beautiful displays of flowers in autumn and early winter.
USES: Ideal for screens, hedges, espaliers and large pots.
PLANTING: Sunny or partly shaded position with morning or afternoon sun. Shelter from strong winds and exposed sites. Plant in a free draining soil rich in organic matter. A potting mix rich with peat moss or humus is ideal added at the time of planting.
CARE: Mulch and water well, prune after flowering and fertilise in Spring.  Plant in a soil which is medium to acidic. Avoid lime.
